Trazendo no currículo sete discos lançados e o título de primeiro rapper brasileiro a fundar um selo dedicado ao gênero, o Só Balanço, criado em 93, GOG faz do verso um manifesto em prol da informação e do conhecimento.

É o que ele reforça no CD duplo “Tarja Preta”, eleito o melhor álbum de hip hop do ano no prêmio Hutus de 2004– o mais importante do segmento. A autogestão do movimento, a necessidade de profissionalização e de inserção no mercado e o fortalecimento da cena rap no país são alguns dos temas que ele pretende abordar no debate hoje.

“Pertenço à primeira geração do hip hop no Brasil. Em 83, nós éramos um grupinho pequeno em Brasília, que ficava procurando espaços, na rua e em praças, para poder dançar break. Era uma coisa muito mal vista, coisa de vagabundo, a polícia normalmente chegava pondo a gente pra correr. Hoje a situação é bem outra. O próprio poder público está investindo em espaços para o hip hop”, diz o poeta das multidões.

GOG fala do ritmo, poesia, violência urbana e política no rap.

Veterano do estilo, o rapper brasiliense participará de eventos em São Luiz capital Maranhese.

O rapper GOG, um dos pioneiros e mais politizados do rap brasileiro, estará em São Luiz para participar de dois eventos que focarão o ritmo, a poesia e os aspectos políticos no hip hop. Participa de uma palestra, bate-papo e workshop, local a definir. Por volta das 22h no espaço do Circo da Cidade no centro de São Luiz fará o fechamento da atividade com show que traz as canções do álbum Tarja Preta e músicas dos disco anteriores, na mesma noite o evento contará com as participações dos grupos Clãnordestino, Flagrante do Piauí e do grupo paulistano Realidade Cruel de Campinas.

Convidado pelo MHHOB, GOG volta a São Luiz pela terceira vez, comentando aspectos de sua trajetória de rapper, iniciada nos anos 80. Como ativista incansável do movimento hip hop, GOG (Genival Oliveira Gonçalves) tem percorrido diversas cidades do país, nas quais toma contato, principalmente, com jovens periféricos e ativistas sociais, como os sem-terras, sem-tetos, ambientalistas. GOG é reconhecido no meio como o poeta do RAP nacional (tem sete CDs gravados). Atualmente, atua em parceria com o cantador Rapadura natural do Ceará e do DJ Tiago de Brasilia.

O objetivo principal do evento é apresentar um panorama sobre sua obra, que tem como base de atuação o eixo Distrito Federal – São Paulo, para discutir caminhos para a independência e fortalecimento do movimento nordestino. Sua amostragem sonora possibilitará uma melhor compreensão , e logicamente, o show contará com os hits, Dia-a-dia na periferia, Assassinos sociais, Brasília Periferia, É o terror, Fogo no Pávio, América Latina sem reféns entre tantos sucessos nacionais do rapper.

A mesa-redonda de quinta, aberta ao público, abordará aspectos da relação Juventude Negra e Violência Urbana , desdobrando esses aspectos propriamente dito, GOG tem como maior força de suas letras o discurso social contundente. Privilegia elementos como a cor da pele, os descaminhos da miséria e a realidade violenta vivida pelas comunidades marginalizadas. Porém não descuida da linguagem, pois domina com mestria a expressão poética no rap – daí a alcunha de poeta.

Além desses encontros, juntamente com o FAVELAFRO - MHHOB, GOG fará visitas a programas de rádios comunitárias, segmentos da sociedade civil organizada e com o núcleo de hip hop.
A mesa redonda e o workshop local a ser definido conta com a parceria do coletivo de hip hop FAVELAFRO e entidades , como estratégia de aproximação da universidade com a comunidade.

As activist untiring of the movement hip hop, GOG (Genival Oliveira Gonçalves) has covered diverse cities of the country, in which it makees contact, mainly, with young peripherals and social activists, as without-lands, without-ceilings, environmentalist.

GOG is recognized in the way as the national poet it RAP (it has seven CDs recorded). Currently, it acts in partnership with the cantador natural Rapadura of the Ceará and the DJ Tiago de Brasilia.
The main objective of the event is to present a panorama on its workmanship, that has as performance base the axle Federal District - São Paulo, to argue ways for independence and fortalecimento of the movement northeastern.
